Chef’s Night Off – Taking it Easy

I would have posted over the weekendbut I since this blog is about my adventures in wandering I was left with very little to write about. This holiday weekend was definitely about taking it easy at home with my family. Plenty of good times, but very little adventure – and sometimes that’s a good thing!

We had our 4th of July burgers at Odeon in Tribeca – guaranteed to satisfy the cheeseburger craving. Took a walk on the newly opened High Line Park – the beautifully designed re-purposing of an old Meat Packing District train tressle. Spent lots of good times with my niece, including a matinee of “Up” – not to be missed (though it was not the little one’s style – she seems to prefer Japanimation).

The next few weeks will include a few new Brooklyn adventures (lobster rolls at the Brooklyn Flea, more movies in Enoteca’s garden, concerts in Prospect Park, and more), all leading up to my trip to California and some hopeful back-burner plans for an Italian getaway this fall (cross your fingers for me!).
