Guest Blogger: Maria’s in Tokyo, part 2

Actually, now Maria is in a small village near Kyoto.

She and her partner are staying in a very traditional lodging (I do not have the Japanese terms available to me right now-sorry!)… While on the property, they wear special robes and shoes (if any), eat traditional style meals, and sleep on tatami mats separated from each other by rice paper screens. I haven’t gotten the full details, but I did receive two photos of the foods… I’m jealous! It sounds like quite the adventure!

Shrimp congee with noodles?

Fish balls?
